My poor SIL must dread it when my family visits; especially those like this past Saturday when it is sunny out and I am full of energy. I have a hard time controlling myself when I have excess energy and I always always LOVE to help others decorate and clean/organize their own homes. In the past I've talked Nat into painting her family room (with many trips to the hardware store as we couldn't find just the right color) and recovering her dining room chairs.
So this past Saturday, while AH and his bro were off playing ultimate Frisbee, I was chatting it up with Nat in her living room trying to contain the massive energy my body wanted to let out (courtesy of our rarely seen sun). I couldn't stop myself from looking around her house and thinking of ways I could burn my hyperactivity off to her benefit.
How I contained my excitement I'll never know when she showed me a project that had been put on the wayside; decorating her youngest child's room. After looking at the paint she had bought, the chic wall plaques that spell out his name and the cute chocolate brown comforter I knew I HAD to do something. I looked around the bedroom and said, "You know it would only take about 90 minutes to paint this room. I'd be happy to help you. . ." She looked at me strangely and I got the hint that this was not in her plans for the day. Oh well, I would recover.
After the boys brought home pizza for dinner Nat surprised me by asking her hubby what the plan was for the rest of evening and how long it would take. Much to my delight my enthusiasm for painting had rubbed off on her and so we got to work. We cleared out the room and got the painting gear while the men did some computer projects and kept the kids in check. It actually took about 2 hours to paint but the room looks awesome! Nat is going to do another coat this week and then accessorize.
Thanks Nat for always letting me bully you into projects! You're a good sport :-)

Well of course I really appreciated your help! I did a second coat on half the room before I ran out of paint. I ran to the paint store on Sat - and hope to have his room done by his b-day this Sunday!
Um . . . anytime you can come burn off some energy at my house and help me organize :)
