Since the beginning of man we have shown time and time again that we are a rebellious sort and don't always take heed of our parents guidance. I can name many incident in my own youth when I chose to do exactly the opposite of what my mother counselled. The payback for my recklessness is getting to be on the opposite end of that relationship and watching my children make their own choice despite my "words of wisdom".
"Don't take the safety cap off mommy's razor, it is sharp." Poor Beeb had to learn the hard way this time.
My heart is mending much slower than her thumb. I've been assured by my own mother that this only gets worse as our children get older and make even dumber choices. Ah, that's reassuring to know.
